How do I login to the system? Follow

What is required:

  1. A valid Application Development Group (ADG) vetted and provided system account. How do I get an account?
  2. A computer, tablet or phone with a modern browser. There are known issues with department computers using Internet Explorer in IE8 Compatibility mode. Due to this, it is recommended you use Chrome if you are on a department issued computer.
  3. A working internet connection.

 

What to do:

If you are on a computer or tablet with a large display:

  1. Browse to the system URL: https://ads.state.gov.
  2. Click on the Sign In button in the top right hand of the window or on the Sign In with Microsoft button in the right hand middle of the window.
  3. Enter your full account in the text field labeled "Email or Phone". Your full ADG account should be in the following format: username@departmentofstate.onmicrosoft.com or username@stateid.onmicrosoft.com.
  4. Enter your complete password in the field labeled "Password". Your password is case sensitive.

 

If you are on a phone or tablet with a small display:

  1. Browse to the system URL: https://ads.state.gov.
  2. Click on the Sign In with Microsoft button in the middle of the window.
  3. Enter your full account in the text field labeled "Email or Phone". Your full ADG account should be in the following format: username@departmentofstate.onmicrosoft.com or username@stateid.onmicrosoft.com.
  4. Enter your complete password in the field labeled "Password". Your password is case sensitive.

 

Special Notes and Troubleshooting Steps
 
Modern browsers will generally "remember" your login credentials by default. If this is the case for you, your login experience may be slightly different. One of the following may occur:
    1. You may automatically be logged into the system
    2. You may only need to select your appropriate account from a list of accounts the browser already remembers. In this case, make sure you select the correct account!
  • Some individuals may have multiple Microsoft accounts. In this case keep in mind the following:
    1. Only the valid accounts provided by the ADG will be able to login.
    2. If your ADG account is not shown on the list of accounts, click on the "Use another account" option and enter your account as described above in the What to do section.
