Changes to Storing Social Security Numbers
With this release, ADS will no longer track the full Social Security Number (SSN). All existing SSNs will be truncated to be the last 4 digits of the SSN, and all new users will only provide the last 4 digits of their SSN when applicable. This also affects data that will be populated into forms based on mappings to the full SSN. Moving forward these mappings will automatically adjust to using only the last 4 digits of the SSN.
The ADS team is making these changes based on recommendations from management to be in compliance with 5 FAM 469.7 "Reducing the Use of Social Security Numbers". The guidance here is that agencies are required to reduce the use of Social Security Numbers, and where feasible, use partial redaction, truncation, masking, encryption, or disguising of the Social Security Number.
Release v1.26.4 includes additional bug fixes found since the last major release v1.26.4.
