Introduction
This article provides a detailed guide for managing Buildings within the system. It outlines the steps for viewing, adding, editing, and deleting buildings, as well as navigating the different viewing options available on the Buildings page.
Accessing the Buildings page
Navigate to Organization > Buildings.
The Buildings page displays a list of all buildings associated with the selected Post.
Each building card includes essential information such as:
Building Name
Post & Country
Address Details (Optional)
Quick link to More Info
Sorting Buildings
To organize your building list more efficiently, you may sort the entries in the way that best suits your workflow. The system allows two sorting options:
Alphabetical Order
Sort buildings from A to Z (or Z to A), making it easier to locate items quickly by name.
Custom Order
Arrange buildings manually according to your preferred sequence.
To change how the buildings are arranged, simply click Change Sort Order. After selecting your preferred sorting method, the list will automatically update to reflect your chosen arrangement.
Switching Between Card View and List View
Users can change how buildings are displayed by using the Change View button.
Two view modes are available:
Select the preferred view from the dropdown under the view toggle icon.
Card View
Shows building cards with icons and key information.
Ideal for quick visual scanning.
List View
Displays buildings in a simplified vertical list.
Suitable for compact viewing or sorting large numbers of entries.
Adding a Building
To create a new Building, click the + New Building button at the top of the page.
This will open the Create New Building form.
Enter the building details:
Building Name: Enter the official name of the building.
Post: Select the Post to which the building belongs.
Address Line 1: Primary address of the building.
Address Line 2: Optional secondary address details.
Postal Code: Enter the building’s postal code.
City: Specify the city where the building is located.
State: Enter the state or administrative region, if applicable.
Country: This field is auto-populated based on the selected Post.
After completing the form, click Save Changes to create the building or Cancel to return to the Buildings page without saving.
The new building will immediately appear on the Buildings page in the selected view format.
Editing and Deleting a Building
From the main Buildings page, locate the building you want to update.
To edit a building in Card View, click More Info on the building card to open the building’s detail page, then select the Edit button.
In List View, click the Edit (pencil) icon next to the building you want to modify.
Update the building details as needed.
Click Save Changes to apply the changes. If you do not wish to save the changes, click Cancel to discard any modifications.
Deleting a Building
From the same detail page, select the Delete option.
Confirm the deletion when prompted.
⚠️ Note: Deleting a building may require that no dependent records are linked to it.
