Referring a BOC to a Non-State Agency

Navigate to the Bill of Collection (BOC):

To start the process, go to the Receivables menu and locate the specific Bill of Collection (BOC) that you want to refer to a non-state agency. You can find BOCs by navigating to the My Initiated Bills page, which displays the bills you have created, or by using the Search Bills page, which shows all BOCs along with their current statuses.

Note:  The Bill of Collection must be for a USDH in order to find the 'Refer to a Non-State Agency' option.

Once you’ve located the BOC, click Edit to make changes to the bill and proceed with the referral.

Once inside the Bill of Collection, in the Post and Recipient Details section, click the Non-State Agency  toggle to  begin the referral process to a non-state agency.

Steps to Refer to a Non-State Agency:

  1. Click the 'Non- State Agency' toggle. This action let's the system know that you're referring the bill to a non-state agency.
  2. Once you've clicked on the 'Non-State Agency' button, you'll need to provide the email address for the non-state agency's POC. You also have the option to CC any additional contacts if necessary.
  3. After entering the email address, click the yellow 'Refer to Non-State Agency' button to officially submit the referral.

System Notification: After clicking the 'Refer to Non-State Agency' button, you will receive a system notification informing you that once a BOC is referred to a non-state agency, it will be marked as closed within ATLAS Financials. The application will no longer track any further progress for that bill. Click on the blue 'Refer to Non-State Agency' button to finalize the referral process.
