Introduction

Workflows are a powerful tool that give administrators the ability to assign a group of tasks to an employee. Workflows can be created from scratch or imported, and where new workflows have to be built from the ground up, imported workflows require less work to set up on ATLAS Workflows.

NOTE: To import a workflow, you must already have a workflow saved to your files. Otherwise, this feature will not work.

Importing a Workflow from the Workflows Library

First things first, login to ATLAS Workflows. Once you've authenticated using your credentials, click on the Administration tab in the top right-hand corner of your screen. NOTE: You may not have access to this tab if your superiors have not granted you the necessary permissions.

Once there, navigate to the Workflows category under the Workflow Configuration section of the task bar on the left side of your screen. Click on Workflows to access the Workflows dashboard.

Once there, you should see a description of How to Manage Workflows at the top of your screen. Read carefully if you have any questions about workflows. Otherwise, move to the middle of your screen where you will see two actions to choose from: New Workflow and Import Workflow. Click on Import Workflow.

From here, a little prep work is required. See Setting Up Your Workflow for details.

Setting up a Workflow

Three fields are required before anything else can happen.
NOTE: These fields will NOT auto-populate once you import the desired workflow. Be sure to fill in these fields manually.

  1. Click on New Workflow Name and enter the name of your new workflow.
    NOTE:
The name of your new workflow does not need to match the name of the workflow being imported.
  2. Click on Workflow Category and select a storage location from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click on Description and type a description, or simply copy and paste your New Workflow Name into the Description field.

  1. If this field has not automatically set itself to Import a Workflow, click on Create a Draft From.  A dropdown menu will appear.
  2. Select Import a Workflow from the dropdown menu.
  3. Under Import File, click on Choose File...
