Release Notes v1.7.0

NEW FEATURES:

• Customizable Categories

  • The number of available categories has increased from 5 to 8. In addition to the default categories Community, Housing, Resources, and Services, users now have 4 optional categories.

• • The color scheme across all Categories and Classifieds has been updated inline with the 508 compliance guidelines to provide a consistent and modern design across the application. This ensures a fresh, cohesive look that enhances user experience.

• • Users can now control the display order of categories by assigning an Order number. Categories are shown from left to right on the homepage according to this order.

• • Users can enable or disable any category as needed, with a minimum of three categories required to remain enabled at all times.

• • A new feature has been added to enforce unique titles for all classified categories. The application will automatically check for duplicates. If the title already exists, an error message will prompt you to choose a unique name. This prevents the creation of categories with the same name.

• Air Quality Index (AQI) widget on Dashboard

  A new Air Quality Index (AQI) widget has been added to the Dashboard. This feature provides real-time air quality data for each Post/City based on the GPS coordinates.
  • The widget displays:
    • • AQI Value 
      • Air Quality Rating
      • Timestamp
  • Once enabled, the AQI widget will appear on the Dashboard below the Helpful Tips section.

• Topics Enhancements

  • A new View as HTML field has been added on the Topics page, allowing users to preview content directly in HTML format.

• • The Topics interface now includes a Subtopic toggle feature, allowing users to organize content hierarchically by nesting topics under parent categories.
    
    • How to Use:
      • BEFORE creating a heading or any other part of the topic, toggle the Subtopic slide to ON if the topic should appear under a parent topic.
      • When the Subtopic toggle is ON, a Parent Topic field will appear. Choose the appropriate parent category that the current topic will be nested under.
      • Note: leave the Subtopic toggle OFF if the topic should be treated as a main category on its own.

• Classified Ads

  We are excited to announce the updated optional Classified Ads feature under Content Management > Classifieds. Content Managers can add items for Sale, promote products or services to make recommendations within the application. 

• Content Managers are now able to create and organize classified ads., including title, description, category, contact information, and optional images and create Sub-categories for Classified sections

  • Subcategories have been added to the Classified sections, making it easier to sort and categorize items. For example, under the "Pets" category, users can now add subcategories like "Vet," "Grooming," "Hotel," and more.

• Classified Categories Configuration

  Extra Classified Categories have been added, allowing Content Managers to easily manage how categories are displayed, arranged and ordered on the Dashboard as well as having 4 more customizable section titles. (5 customizable titles, 3 default)

  • Enable/Disable Toggle for entire Categories
    • The Enable Classifieds toggle switch is located at the top-right corner of the panel.
    • This master switch allows users to enable or disable the entire Classifieds Categories on the Dashboard with a single click.

• Permanent Document URL Links

  • The application now supports permanent document URLs, ensuring documents remain accessible even if updated or renamed.

• Release Notices Functionality

  • A new Release Notices functionality has been created allowing the System administrators to manage release announcements effectively.

• Popup Message for Release Notices/Announcements

  • A popup message now appears when a Release Notice or Announcement is published.

ENHANCEMENTS

• Dashboard Improvements

  • A scroll bar is now activated when more than six lines of topics are present in a single category, allowing users to navigate content more easily.

• • A header or banner with section block has been added for the Classifieds section, improving visibility and structure on the Dashboard.

Miscellaneous

• Release v1.7.0 includes additional bug fixes:

  • To maintain consistency, the color of the trash icon has been changed from blue to red on the Photos, Videos, Documents, and Newsletters pages.
  • Resolved an issue where search and sorting criteria were not being retained across all table lists, ensuring more consistent results when navigating table-based pages.
  • Fixed an error that occurred when clicking on a search result for an item that had already been deleted or could not be found. The system will no longer return deleted items in search results.
  • Fixed an issue in Site Search where long, continuous text was causing overflow in the search results. The text is now truncated to prevent overflow and maintain proper page layout.
  • Fixed an issue where the "Uploaded Date" column in the Documents section was sorting alphabetically instead of chronologically. It now correctly sorts by date.
  • Fixed an issue where the Topics section was not properly positioned in the menu. It has now been moved down in response to user feedback.
  • Updated the Site Admin page by changing the word “Listed” to “Publish.”
  • Addressed an issue raised by users regarding the yellow background color in Categories.
  • In the Dashboard, an issue was fixed where the layout didn’t adjust correctly when the number of categories was reduced. It now automatically adjusts to fit the number of active categories for a cleaner and more balanced look.

Performance Improvements

• • Server-Side Querying optimization
  • FAQs are now stored in a blob container when the Topic loads for better performance
  • Moved HTML content to a blob container
  • Implemented lazy loading for the editor HTML in the Topics section
