Introduction

The Categories section allows Content Managers or Administrators to manage the available categories.

 

Managing Classified Categories

Navigate to Content Management > Categories.

There are now a total of 8 Categories, with 3 new Categories recently added.

On this page, you can view the following columns: Title, Color, Order, and Enabled.

  • Title: The name of the category.
  • Color: A unique color code associated with each category.
  • Order: The display position of the category on the Dashboard.
  • Enabled: A toggle switch to enable or disable each category, making it visible on the Dashboard.

 

Customize Category Details

You can easily customize your Categories to better match your site's needs.

 

Edit a Title

To change a Category title, locate the Category under the Title column. Click the text field and enter the desired name.

⚠️Note: There are 8 predefined categories, and only 4 of them can be edited. The Categories Community, Housing, Services, and Resources are pre-made, and their names cannot be edited. However, you can still change their colors and enable or disable them.

Once the title is changed, a popup message will appear to confirm the change was successful.

 

Change the Color

A new color scaling has been implemented using darker hues for 508 compliance and improved accessibility.

To update a Category's color, click the color box or the hex code under the Color column. A color picker will appear. Select your desired color from the options provided.

Once the color is changed, a popup message will appear to confirm the change was successful.

 

Setting Order

The Order field defines the left-to-right sequence of Categories on the Dashboard.

Use numeric values starting from 1. Lower numbers are shown first.

Enable or Disable Categories

All categories can be individually enabled or disabled. Use the toggle switch under the Enabled column to enable or disable a Category.

  • Enabled: The category is visible on the Dashboard.
  • Disabled: The category is hidden from the Dashboard.

⚠️Note: At least three classified categories must be enabled at all times.

Once the setting is changed, a popup message will appear to confirm the change was successful.
