User Login Control Capabilities in ATLAS Housing
The ATLAS Housing Team has enabled Local Administrators at Post to manage USDH (U.S. Direct Hire) login emails directly. This new feature helps resolve common access issues quickly and efficiently, saving time for both Posts and users.
Common Access Issues and How to Fix Them when and Account shows " Access Denied" message
1. Fixing a USDH Account
If a USDH occupant receives an “Access Denied” message when trying to access the Resident Portal, it could be due to several reasons. Fortunately, Local Administrators can fix this immediately by following these steps:
Go to the Configuration menu
Click on User Login Control
Search for the officer’s name
Click the Fix Account icon
After this, please share the following link with the occupant to try logging in again:

If the problem continues, contact ADG Support at: ADG-Support@state.gov
2. Merging Officer Accounts
Before performing any other actions, please first try using the “Fix Account” option described above. If the issue still persists after that, then proceed with the merging option.
This helps ensure the simplest and quickest solution is tried first!
Sometimes, an incoming officer may have been registered with their official state.gov email at their previous Post but with a personal email (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) at the gaining Post. This mismatch also causes an automatic “Access Denied” message.
Local Administrators can now merge these accounts to resolve the issue:
Go to the Configuration menu
Click on User Login Control
Search for the officer’s name
Click the Merge option
Select or type the two user accounts (User #1 and User #2) from the drop-down menu
Click Merge to combine the accounts
After merging, share the Resident Portal link below with the occupant to log in:
