Housing Questionnaire Instructions

  • Pre-Questionnaire Instructions:
Please provide clear guidance regarding the housing questionnaire, including what information is required and the expected timeframe for submission. Specify the number of days within which the Post/Consulate anticipates receiving a response from the employee.
  • In-Progress Questionnaire Instructions:
Outline the nature of the questions and the type of responses you are seeking. Emphasize the importance of establishing an arrival date promptly to ensure a smooth and timely housing preparation process. Additionally, request an alternate email address for communication purposes during travel, as some officers may have limited or no access to their State.gov accounts while in transit.
  • If applicable, describe the types of residences available at the Post and explain the rationale behind offering only those options. This helps clarify any discrepancies for USDH who may be aware of other housing types and wonder why they are not selectable. You can also add this information as attachment
  • Post-Questionnaire Instructions:
Inform employees about the next steps after questionnaire submission, including an estimated timeline for completing the housing assignment. Avoid providing specific dates, as processing times can vary depending on housing availability.

Note: The Resident Portal Configuration is directly connected to the Residence’s Profile setup. All photos and attachments (optional by configuration) uploaded to a Residence’s Profile will be visible in the Resident Portal.

Please ensure that you upload appropriate photos of the residences that you want Incoming Occupants and EFMs to view.

Attachments can be hidden from the Resident Portal if local administrators choose to set them this way.
